RE: Warranty Gold Advice/Feedback?

Steve,

I also have a sedan 98 M3. I've got an extended warranty at the BMW
dealer. The reason I did this is because not all warranties are honored at
the BMW dealers. Make sure you get the warranty now, since once it expires
no BMW dealer will get you one -- you also MUST be less than 48k miles.
Also the sooner you get it the cheaper it will be.

Is it worth it ? three months after buying and the original one expired. I
spend $500 dollars to fix the airbag sensor and to replace a halogen
light. The rest was cover by the warranty: fuel sensor in gas tank, stick
shift light out. this was about another $400 dollars parts and labor. If
any of the MAJOR parts fail, such as: engine or power train. You will be
most likely be getting a new car.

I paid for my $2600 dollars, since my car was 47k miles and two months
away from expiration. M3 are not cheap cars to maintain and or repair,
because of all of the technology they have. You can also put away
$100-$200 every month to fix any breakdowns...;)

I can bet that within six years you will be spending more than you paid
for insurance. $2600/5years = $520 per year ( $43.33 per month).

My two cents.
