There is a sensor at the door lock mechanism. It needs to be replaced. I
don't have a schematic but the part#51211977113 at a cost of $122.ooCDN
Typical problem.

Subject: Wacky Windows - E36 Convert
Hi All.
I have a serious problem with the window operation in my '94 325ic. These
are the symptoms: 1) driver's and passenger's front windows do not
automatically go down then up when closing the door; 2) driver's window
sometimes refuses to go all the way up and needs coaxing; 3) so-called
"toll window" operation works when it feels like it; 4) the interior lights
(presumably operated by some sort of switch) infrequently turn on when the
doors are opened. It sounds like the switch/sensor/sender is shot, but I
cant figure out where the heck it is! Any ideas on fixing this incredibly
annoying problem??
TIA
Scott
