Re: Brake trouble lights

Coming home this AM the ABS light on my 99 528iT came on. A quick check on 
some leftover sand in the road confirmed it was not working. Then I noticed 
my speedometer was registering zip and a bit later the yellow triangle with 
the arrow circling it came on indicating a problem in the AST system.
My first thought was to check the brake fluid level and the fuses. Both are 
fine.
I replaced brake fluid at about 30,000 and activated the ABS a couple of 
times to circulate fresh fluid in the system. Car has 57K currently. I do 
drive some miles on dirt roads here in CO and did this AM which might cause 
dirt to get into the ABS fins. The light came on after driving on paved roads 
for about 30 miles. Dry highways and dirt roads today.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to what is going on in my iT?
