RE: winter storage tips

If you temps drop to freezing and below:

1. Take a coolant stength reading, it must provide enough protection for
your climate as well as freak spikes
2. If you have upgraded your stereo..with a unit that has a LCD display
...remove it and bring it inside.
3. If you decide to leave you tires and rims on, tire cradles are a must or
you'll risk getting flat spots
4. If you decide to leave the battery in, install a battery tender (1.5 to 2
amps for about 30 bucks)

Subject: winter storage tips

I couldn't find a FAQ on winter storage, so I thought I'd ask on the mailing
list...

I recently stored a '98 M3 in an upstate New York NON-heated covered/closed
garage (at my house) for the winter and am wondering what I need to do as
far as 'winter-storage-maintenance'. I've been getting different "tips" from
friends (charge battery, run car in garage every few weeks, etc.), but I
wanted to ask the REAL experts :-)

The only thing I've done so far is fill the gas tank and include STA-BIL gas
stabilizer.

Any other tips/watchouts/gotchas?

TIA!
