ellipsoids vs Hellas

The ellipsoid headlights in my wife's e34 535i have really poor low beams.
Besides, they're pitted and have some moisture in them. Can I replace them
with the Hellas like i put in my e30? Do I have to modify the buckets? The
Hellas are great with 60/100 watt bulbs!
