CD player into an E30/ Power Door Locks Inop

Hi:
Need some advice. I want to keep my stock radio (91 325IC) and ad a CD
player in the trunk or glove box. I don't care if it is single or platter
style but suspect I will only find platter style CD players.
Any advice would help. I can go to the local audio installers and have it
done but would like to hear from those that have done this and learn from
your experience.

2nd question is how do I trouble shoot the power door locks on the 325IC? I
have Bentley to start off with but here is what I know.
Fuse is not blown for the computer and power door locks. Pulled the driver
door panel and saw nothing amiss, all hooked up and looks untouched, no
loose wiring.
How do I approach this problem? What is the likely suspect?
Nothing on the car functions with the usual key power lock and unlock as it
does on my old 86 325ES.
