Computer and radio problems

>For those keeping up with my radio and computer problems on my 1996 328iS
thought you might be interested in knowing how to re-enter the code on your
radio if you for some reason enter wrong the first time. First, you only have
(3) three chances to enter the correct code or the radio shuts down completely
forever. (So, be careful) The radio code is reported as being located behind
the radio inside your dash by BMW but I have not verified this. Also, should
you enter the code incorrectly the first time and lock your system up you will
need to leave your car with the radio on for about an hour and half before you
have the opportunity to re-enter the correct code. (This was my problem and
once I had the code I was having problems getting it entered) ---was told to
listen for a "Beep" that may or may not occur which would mean to stop where I
was and re-enter the entire code. I didn't get a beep but I did get the
radio working again! Hurray!

Also, contrary to what the BMW service advisor told me you cannot reset
the check engine light by disconnecting the battery on an OBDII car.
Nor with the service reset tool or removing fuses to reset the light.
(tried that too) I think you must have the instrument that BMW used to
reset the engine light. Anyone else with a different experience?

Thanks again to all of the list posters who offered suggestions.
