E30 SI Board Swap?

Well Frist the car is a E30 1987 325is. The batteris
went dead in my SI board. ei. They can't be reset with
the reset tool. Can I just swap the SI board from my
86 e30 325e cluster? It seams like it would work, but
before I pull my cluster out has anyone done this? The
old one came out with only one screw.
