the crank on the ETA motor is cast. as far as i know, the only crank in the 
E30 six cylinder line that was forged was the 324td crank, which shares the 
same dimensions as the ETA crank.  you'll need different pistons, as putting 
an i head on an ETA block drops the compression down too low. 

using an i head with a forged 324td crank, shot-peened ETA rods, and some 
nice custom pistons would make a killer M20 thatll rev safely past 7K. put in 
a schrick 272/272 cam and your car will fly.  the crank with bearings was 
around $700 when i priced it last year, that was with a 10% CCA discount.
