I experienced something similar.... I found the problem was in my hood
sensor.. it had moved and the little arm was not being pushed down all the
way...
if you have one (hood sensor) check that... or any other door switch....

Folks:
The other night my car alarm went off by itself.
What can cause this? Bad wiring? Is there an internal battery
in the alarm unit that can burn out?
I'm at a loss here to explain this because the car
is in a garage in a quiet neighborhood
and I don't think there could be anything running around
the garage to to trip it off.
