E30s can have a problem with the oil filter housing. Mine
was resealed once and then replaced after again developing
a leak. The new one is starting to leak as well (1991 325i).
There is a reseal kit available, but an independent mechanic
told me another seal or O-ring has to be replaced to do
the job permanently. It is not in the reseal kit. Brett or
someone else with hands-on experience can probably tell
the whole story.

Ok I just Replaced my oil pan gasket as it was
leaking. I've got the new one on there and it doesn't
seem to be leaking anymore as I cleaned it and the
seams aren't leaking anywhere that I can see. But
there is still an oil leak some where as there are
drips when I stop the car. It drips off the A/C
compresser, near the oil fliter. The fliter is on
tight and not leaking from there. Any more place to
look?
