Noise O2 sensor service switch

Have an '88 528e with 135,000 miles.
Ever since I bought at 95,000 miles, at low speeds I've been hearing a low
clicking noise in the cabin around center-console/transmission. I understand
O2 sensor service switch was noisy in this model.
Question is, is this inexpensive and easy to replace? Anyone know where I'll
find it... in interior or underneath?
