E36: Help! Can't open hood!!

I'm not sure this is the best way, but go get the longest needle
nose plier you can get and reach under the hood through one of
the openings in front of the car where the plier can reach the
hood's cable. clamp down on the cable with the plier and pull it
toward the direction the cable normally does from hood release
latch. This is how I had to open my 92 E36 few years back. It
does take awhile to get to it.
