Ronnie,

How long have you had your new KN filter upgrade? Do you drive in a dry,
dusty area (like So Cal or the southwest)? You will be amazed at the amount
of dust and dirt that gets by your KN.

I would recommend keeping your factory box and filter for 12 months or so
until you're satisfied with the filtering performance of the KN upgrade.

You will have definitely noticed a performance increase, but if your
experience proves anything like mine with a 1986 535i, you may end up
returning your upgrade kit because of engine internal cleanliness issues, or
just keep it for the track.
