Now that the new drive shaft, guibo, center
bearing, etc. is on the UPS truck heading my way, I decided to re-read

Bently driveshaft replacement procedure.

Not to worry, all these parts will be needed anyway on any E30 with 207K
miles......
Reading your post, I would also suggest new engine and trans mounts at
this time.
Regarding the trans problem........I would just spend the $$$ and get a
factory rebuilt unless you enjoy
pulling out the trans repeatedly to fix every problem as it arises......

I have already replaced all these items on my 86 E30 with 112K
miles............< except the trans.>
