If it is the same as my '87 325, it should be secured
to the hood by two posts that go into small grommets.
You should be able to pop the hood (not all the way),
and lift up the front of it. From there, you can push
it out from underneath. You'll be amazed at how much
better the new one looks, and they are cheap (~ $15)
even from the stealer. HTH
