E 34 fuse blowing

A friend with a '89 535 , E 34 has had fuse 17 blow a number of times. Two
servicing dealers can't find a problem ( it of course blows
intermittently).  Has anyone had this problem and what was the diagnosis ?
Is there  a web site that might contain a data base with frequent symptoms
and fixes ?
