E30 Horn contactor

Has anyone successfully removed/replaced the horn contactor
(spring loaded contact) that is attached to the steering
column?  The parts CD shows it to be held in place by screws,
but mine is riveted in (85 325e).  When trying to
drill out the rivets, they merely spin around (hollow
rivets), and I see no way to hold them while drilling.
