RE: Bilstein Q's

I set up a 1987 325i with Bilstein Sport shocks and H&R
springs. Also installed 205/55R15 (same size as original on
E30 M3) on the car. The results....
The car handled great, especially during driving schools and
track days. The down side. The ride was harsh. What was
good on the track was really uncomfortable on the street
(unless the pavement was smooth)
The car looked good with the lowered stance, but in
retrospect I would probably looked for a slightly softer
spring than the H&R's.

The upgrade to the 205/55R15 tires from the original
195/65R14's was a big improvement in handling. A set of new
Bilstein HD would probably been a better choice for everyday
use with the original springs.

I am running Bilstein HD in combination with Bavarian
Autosport springs on my 1987 535is and find it to be just
right, considering the roads in the Dallas, TX area are not
the smoothest. The car handles great on the track without
pounding the kidneys too much on the street.
