Replacement of e30 front struts without removing the wheel assembly

Also replacing the front struts with factory boges. I found a web site that
showed how ro replace the front factory old boges with new ones. Had to
compress the springs and lower out of car. I recall the procedure but now
can't find the site. Any help is appreciated.
