Not necessarily cheap; don't know about your model, but my BMW's radio was
made by Alpine; hardly a "cheap" manufacturer.
Dirt happens, ya know? The nature of a potentiometer is that it tends to be
positively charged. Positive charges attract dust particles (which are
negatively charged). That's why cleaners exist. ;)
