e-30 pad life after warning light

Hello everyone,
can anyone tell me how much life I have left on my pads after the brake pad
warning light starts coming on? Mine started a few days ago at the beginning
of my shift at work (delivering pizza). I ordered a new set of metalmasters
from Bavarian Auto the first chance I got, and I've been trying to go easy on
them in the meantime, but I haven't had a chance to get the wheels off to
look at them.
Just wondering whether I'm going to end up chewing the rotors before they get
here. Also, I was told I have to replace the pad sensors with the pads to
stop seeing the light, so I ordered them to. . .is this correct?
Lastly, anyone care to comment on the dustyness or performance of
metalmasters on an E-30 over stock pads? Just curious.
Any gotcha's associated with doing the pads that Bentley doesn't cover? I
did get the anti squeal goop.
Thanks for the help,
Jake Hahn
