Check your fuel pressure regulating valve on the bar that send fuel to your
injectors. I added fuel STP injector cleaner to my fuel on time and it
caused the rubber diaphragm in the valve to harden which lead to high fuel
pressure.

Hi all,
My fuel consumption on my E34 525i M20 seems to be a little high and there
is a slight indicaiton of
black smoke coming out of the exhaust with lots of carbon deposits. Does
this mean I am running
the engine a little too rich?. Normally in the morning when I first start up
the engine, idling is a little
rough and thats when the black smoke is the most obvious then as the engine
heats up, less smoke
is visible and idling goes smooth. Any ideas or should I be concern about
this?
