hi, i noticed a problem that's seems to be getting progressively worse in my 1994 325i (auto, 105k miles)
the transmission seems to be having trouble fully engaging in gear unless i apply moderate to hard throttle.
for instance, if i'm using cruise control going slightly uphill on an interstate, the engine is probably running at 400 RPMs higher than normal. then, when i apply throttle to accelerate up the hill, the tach comes -down- to where it normally would be. we're talking about speeds 65-80 mph here.
i don't notice this as much at slower speeds, but it could be there too.
what's going on? bad news? the car has been almost completely troublefree in all 105k miles, beyond normal stuff you'd expect. i'm in the car about 400 miles away from home now. is it going to be able to get itself home to the mechanic?
thanks,
