Your page is very helpful. Thanks. I didn't think it'd be so complicated.
A couple things you didn't mention was the connection of
non-speaker/non-power leads. There are three leads/plugs coming out of the
factory head unit that I'm wondering about:
1) Diversity - what the hell is that?
2) Dot Matrix - same question.
3) Dimmer/Memory - I get what the dimmer is. What's memory? I'm guessing
this is a constant power feed to retain the presets in the head unit. Which
is which?
I'm getting this info from the BMW radio installation instructions. I
haven't confirmed yet whether these wires actually exist on my head unit.
