I haven't been on the digest for a couple of years but have instead run in
more than a dozen drivers schools- thanks to advice from y'all back in '98.
The supercharger, suspension, exhaust, and other mods. came before I
recognized just how slow a Group D, or even C,B,or A driver was in a super
fast car vs. an experienced instructor in a much slower car but who actually
understood the physics of momentum, the line of the track, his own
limitations ,etc. So after two years and most of the standard incremental
improvements in (incidentally having nothing to do with increased power)
brakes and lines, rotors, ducting, track wheels and tires, it is time for a
harness that actually keeps the driver in place, hopefully around a corner,
but if necessary during an event of human error.
Has anyone tried installing the sub belt on a five point through the thin
leather piece connecting the thigh rest with the stock seat so as to get a
reasonably tight fit with the lap belt and shoulder harness? Any general
advice on install info for the M3 using Sabelt or Sparco?
Thanks, Ron
