Because he has the digest sent to his work account, and he's away so 
set an "Auto-reply" which is like an answering machine for email, to 
tell people who email him not to expect a reply for a few days. But 
the problem is, he has it set to respond to any email, so the daily 
digest gets an auto-reply as well.
