Gang,

Long ago on the Digest, there was a report (it may have been fabricated or a
      joke) about Bill Gates having had said at a press conference that "If GM
      were like Microsoft, automobiles would cost $500, get 1000 MPG, .....".
      The CEO of GM was then said to have replied that "cars would die on the
      road without explanation at least every day, and every time they painted
      the lines on the road, you would have to buy a new car,...." etc.

Do any of you have the original story/joke that you could forward to me (with
      dates, if it ACTUALLY occurred)!
