Re: DRLs

About those DRLs, has anyone ever realized that it doesn't power up the
rear? For example, here in Jersey, state law requires lights to be on when
wipers are in action (when it rains in other words). On the way up from the
shore today, I could've counted 40 momo's driving in GMs, Ford Tauruses,
Volvos and VWs without tail lights. What's the big deal? It wasn't dark
but it had terrible road conditions with up-spray and fog.

Couldn't these companies either make the lights always on or just toss the
whole DRL idea out the window?! I never understood the point on this, how
could you not see a 2,500 lb+ car running up the highway? Bikers need that
edge from moron's not paying attention, but as we see everyday it still
doens't help.

Just to satisfy my curiosity, would you care to provide a bibliographic
reference for "all those studies"? Heck, just pick one or two of the best
ones.

Cheers,
