paint protectants

I know, I know, I should just wax it. And for the Bimmer and P-car I do.
But, for the acres of sheetmetal on the Durango, its just too much. So, has
anyone had any experiences with any paint protectants/treatments, good and
bad? Or are they all snake oil? I'm not looking for concour condition 10
years from now, but don't want it totally faded either.
