I saw this posted:

And thought, just in case there is any confusion, people need to be aware
(if not already) that an aftermarket "RF" style CD changer will work like
this, but a standard CD changer without an FM modulator will only plug into
a compatible (same brand, same pin configuration/din plug) CD controlling
head unit.  Some brands have a separate RF package that you simply pair up
with their changer, while some brands have an RF modulator & changer package
that only works in RF fashion.  I hope that this helps rather than adds
confusion...
