performance upgrades

Since my recent purchase here in NH of a 1990 525i, I would like to do
a few minor modifications. I would like the groups advice on who to
buy from and the best prices etc.

While the engine runs fine except for a slightly lump idle (very
slight) I need to change the plugs (type ? )
and the wires are original (mfr & best price)
I think these two are the main culprit for the lumpy idle. The car
runs smooth and strong for a 525 of it's age.

I would also like to add a K7N filter. Is it the same as the 535i
filter? Where is the best and cheapest place to get one on the net?

I would also like to change the chip in the ECU. I see there are a
couple of choices. I really don't need a higher top speed or RPM, but
I would like to improve the bottom end and cruising range performance
some. Comments, or ideas here?
