I have been told by various sources (engine mechanics, oil producers, etc
that using diesel in a gas engine is completely acceptable for several
requirements.
- - sometimes the viscosity mix you want only comes in diesel.
- - you want added cleaners.
Sooo the answer to your question should be go a head and use it - and don't
worry about the time frame. Actually you might want to give it enough time
to loosen up the dirt.
You might consider running it for a a short period until it is thoroughly
black. Then replace it with more of the same and run again - repeating this
until the oil stays clean for a few weeks.
Then switch to you new oil and make sure you change the filter.
