Re: E28 Stabilizer Arm Bushings



I also had shimmy problems before I replaced the bushings.  I installed a
set of bushings for BMP Design with urethane inserts. It solved the shimmy
problems.  This combined with multiple visits to the tire retailer to
balance the wheels fixed the problem.  I used a 12 ton press to remove and
install the bushings.  I bought the press many years ago in order to replace
front bearing on Hondas.
The bushings have been installed for about 40,000 miles and are still
working great.  Only down side is the  polyurethane bushings make some noise
at low speed.

Installed front Stillen/Brembo cross drilled disks of the original size.
This combined with different pads has given me many laps of fade free
operation, especially at the track.  I can now do 25 minute run sessions at
the track and still have brakes at the end.  Sorry, I can't comments on the
steering wheel, although I like my stock three spoke one a lot.
