Sunroof drains? (e-30)

So my driver-side footwell has been a bit soggy recently and I tried to
clean out the drains from the sunroof. I used a 1/4"od. tube attached to my
compressor and snaked it down as far as it would go. When I blew air
through the tube it sounded like the air was comming out behind the
driverside front speaker. When I removed the panel that the speaker is
mounted I found a black plastic tube that is about 1/2" in diam. This tube
was open on the end and allowed water to drip down into the frame section
below the door. 

My questions: Is there a way for water to drain from there? and is this the
normal plumbing for this drain? I see no other path for the tube to be
attached to a drain that goes through the firewall.
