I'm about to install my used E30 M3 springs. Haven't
decided on Bilstein HDs or Sports but I believe both
fit fine. I will be installing rear convertible shock
mounts.Current ones are shot(squeak,and i can see
movement when bouncing car up and down) Does any one
know the part numbers to anything else I may need. New
spring pads, dust covers?
I recently installed new 17" wheels and tires. The
offset was ET30 on OZ competition wheels.(27lbs each
wheel YIKES!! but same price as Kosei 15" so I
couldn't resist)The front seem to be really cutting it
close to the strut. I have like 5mm of clearance,
should I be concerned?
When I had car jacked up to do the wheels, I noticed
the front had a lot of play. I'm assuming steering tie
rods, cause if my bearing had that much play I'm sure
my car would have shakin to death by now. I don't get
whirling bearing sound.
However since i'm going to be doing the shocks, i'm
considering replacing the control arm or pressing in
new ball joints. Are there any reasons why I may not
want to just press in new joints? These control arms
don't look like the get bent often. I've considered
the alloy ones but $$.
I know my control arm bushings are definitely dried
and cracked. So I will be needing to do those too.
ABS light comes on when i start driving. Possibly
corroded gear on bearings, so I was thinking of doing
those too.
Now, giving all that needs to be done sometime in the
future, should I tackle them all at once? Which part
replacement are not defendant on others?
Thanks for you patience
