Premium Gas

I read that my new 328Ci will require premium gas. Are we talking 89 
octane or the 91/94 octane? I have always put 87 in cars I've driven 
in the past, and going to 89 is only a 5-6 cent difference which I'm 
fine with, but I am hoping it doesn't mean the top grade gas... I 
suppose it still will only make a dollar or two difference on a 
fill-up, but it still makes me think...
