2002 gas tank repair question

Does anyone know of a good method of repairing a slightly rusty gas tank on
a 2002. I've heard of s method of cleaning/flushing the tank of existing
rust, etc and then treating the cleaned interior with a sealant to make it
re-usable. Does anyone have experience with this repair to the gas tank???
