E28: Car stereo went out then car dies..

Was driving my 535i, 1985 home from work today when my car stereo stopped, came back on again, then 5
min later stopped, and the whole car shuts down (battery lights and all came on). Rolled to the side
of the road and restarted and drove home...

Any ideas? Bad battery?

I just installed 4 new pioneer speakers. Are they sucking power from the battery?
