ABS light on the Indicator panel

Hi,

I have a 1988 model 325 e. The alternator had burnt out and I had it recoiled.
All the electrical items have been working fine but the ABS light on the display
panel has come on. Could any body let me know as to why this has happened and
how to rectify the same.
