E30 Me Wheels

A friend is just about giving me a set of 16x8 BBS RS 211 wheels for my 89
M3.  They are silver on the outer rims with gold centers and have
245/45/16's on them now. I have no idea what the offset is and it doesn't
say on the wheels. They use to be on an early 70's CSI coupe and later on
his 89 M6.  Anyone know if they will fit just by my description?  I'll try
and fit them on the car this weekend.
