Wheel size suggestion

I have a E34 535i. Currently I have 15" wheels with Pirelly on them. I was
offered a real good price to buy really cool BMW original 17". They look
just gorgous. The problem is that I live in Kiev, Ukraine and the roads are
just not good.
Question 1: is it going to hurt ride comfort REAL BAD?
Question 2: some people says that suspension parts would last only six month
or less if I switch from 15" to 17"
What do you those lucky (or unlucky) ones with 17" think?
