Track events can be brutal on motor and tranny mounts. This can "tweak"
the position of everything beneath the tunnel and alter shifting smoothness.
Heavy shifting at the events can also "smoke" the crank-to-tranny "PILOT
bearing", which normally effects getting into reverse and first from
neutral the worst. I'm puzzled about 2nd gear, unless it got hammered at
the track. The synchros bruise easily and once bruised they can be very
unpleasant.
Double clutch to reduce/eliminate the workload on the 2nd gear synchro
and change your tranny oil straining your old oil and checking for debri.
