Waxes & Polishes

Several weeks ago, I posted this question on the Digest:

	>>> I purchased a used '96 328i several weeks ago.  The BMW
dealership where I bought it had detailed it and it looked fabulous.

	>>>A wash or two later, when I open my garage, the whole garage
_still_ smells of polish. I can't believe it as this never happened when I
use Zymol on my 92 525i.

	>>>I called the dealer, got through to the detailing folks, and a
fellow there told me they use: Yellow Cream Wax from EAS Industrial.
(Fellow to whom I spoke had a heavy accent, so "EAS" might not be exactly
correct.)

	>>>Anyone ever hear of this company? Every used this product?
Know where I can buy it?

I received an email from someone connected with the digest asking
me to post any info I might find about the company. Here it is.

The company's WWW site is called PRO Detailing Products and their
email address is pwsales@domain.elided. It is as I suspected, not "EAS" but
"BAS" products and their WWW URL is http://www.prowax.com/

I sent them an email asking about retail/consumer vice wholesale
purchases, but have not had the courtesy of an answer which leads me to
suspect they dont give a s**t about your average consumer purchasing their
products. It is nonetheless worth a visit to their site as they give
excellent descriptions of their products. See below for one.

	Cheers,
	Bob G.

Yellow Wax=81 Creme
=46EATURES AND BENEFITS
P-42 Yellow Wax=81 Creme is a carnauba based, liquefied paste wax designed
for high quality final finishing. Carnauba based hard cake paste waxes,
like W-41 Yellow Wax, are unequaled for finish quality and depth of shine,
but they tend to be harder to use. So paste wax toppers are often passed
over in the marketplace for products that are faster and easier to use, yet
provide a lesser quality finish. Our NEW Yellow Wax=81 Creme is a true toppe=
r
product that combines paste wax shine and protection with ease of use.
Yellow Wax=81 Creme is made with the very same waxes as our W-41 hard cake
paste wax. Grade #1 Brazilian Carnauba Wax (clear, hard, water proofing
wax) is blended with a high gloss clear wax (claimed to be the highest
gloss wax in the world) for added depth and clarity and another hard wax to
bind to the finish for increased durability. At peak melting time, a
difference takes place. We add our secret cosmetic ingredients. These
cosmetic grade emollients assist us in creating a cream instead of a paste.
Yellow Wax=81 is poured into a can when it is molten wax then rapidly cooled
to form a hard cake paste. But Yellow Wax=81 Creme is mixed at high speed
while slowly cooling to make a cream (like a woman's cold cream). Contains
no cleaners or abrasives so there is no dust, powder or residue to brush
out of cracks & moldings. Because there are no cleaners or fillers, use it
sparingly. Like paste wax, a little goes a long way. Provides a smooth,
even spread that dries quickly and covers a vehicle like an express wax.
Wipe off is very easy while leaving behind an ultra rich, deep gloss
premium coating that lasts for months. Recommended for hand & orbital
buffer application.
RECOMMENDED FOR
Yellow Wax=81 Creme is safe and effective for use on all types of vehicles
and paint finishes (clear coats, acrylics, lacquers, enamels, metallics and
waterbase import paints). Formulated as a true final finish wax for the
discriminating customer, it is designed for new or pre-cleaned surfaces
free of all oxidation and contamination. Great for new and used car get
ready, customer cars, showroom vehicles, show cars, auction get ready and
any pre-cleaned surface requiring the highest quality results.
APPLICATION
Directions: Shake Well Before Using. For best results, pre-clean the
surface with Duz-All=AE or Clear Cut=81 to remove contaminants and condition
paint before applying.
Hand Use: Pour Yellow Wax=81 Creme onto a clean slightly dampened terry clot=
h
or wax applicator. Apply thin coats and spread evenly over a small area on
surface, rubbing in well with a circular motion. Let dry to a haze then
wipe off with a clean, soft, terry cloth. Polish by hand to a high gloss
finish, turning cloth while wiping down.
Orbital Buffer: Apply product to a clean bonnet. Turn on orbital and spread
product evenly over surface. Let dry to a haze then use a second clean
bonnet to remove the product.
High speed buffer: NIOSH approved respirator and safety glasses are
recommended while high speed buffing this product. Apply Yellow Wax=81 Creme
onto a wax applicator and spread evenly over a small area on surface. Use a
high speed buffer with a RV-85-C Foam Finish Pad at 1700-2000 rpm's. Buff
with adequate pressure. As product dries, reduce pressure and increase
rpm's to 2400 to burnish surface to a high gloss.
SPECIAL NOTES
To minimize possibility of streaking, do not apply in direct sunlight or
onto a hot surface. Keep from freezing. Keep container closed when not in
use.
