Sorry to hear about about your situation.  Running directional tires in
the wrong direction will cause problems in rain.  The tread is designed
to force water out the sides and back.  Running the tread  backwards
defeats this and depending on the tread design, it could force water
from the outer edges of the tire, to the middle.  Now the grooves that
move water from the front of the tire to the back  have more water to
deal with.  Therefore it is much easier to float the tire off the road.

BTW, I've used Eagles in the rain, they're spooky even when they are
mounted in the right direction......  Very little warning given when
they are about to let go.
