Re: rust proofing



Our 91 325ise has a lot of rust proofing from new. I believe BMW use Spies
and Hecklier (sp?). Ours was done at the factory before it was shipped as
far as I know. When you look under the car everywhere is done, and if you
look under the doors you can see the remains of where it leaked out of the
doors, and from under the body panels (all in difficult to see places - only
when doors are open, or if you are under the car etc)

prolly one of the UK guys around here will know the stuff BMW use. I have
only seen 1 E30 with visible rust, I don't know if all markets got the same
treatment, but our car is a euro spec model (sold new in the New Zealand
market)
