the ECU in your 328 is FLASH, not an EPROM.  one need send the whole ECU out
to be re-programmed;  you cannot service this yourself.

there's a real interesting article in this month's car&driver wherein it's
claimed that chips (at least the ones they tested) did little good at all in a
328 (about the only benifit is raising the rev limit).  jim c's chip was not
included in this test (wish it had been).
