First of all thanks to all you good folks who sent me information about
the 750IL.
I test drove the one I am lusting after yesterday and it really is a
seductive animal. It has 135,000 miles on the clock, interior
impeccable, suspension the usual rattles that speak to replacement of
most of the rubber down below, BUT there is that miss on one of the 12
cylinders AND a pretty loud rattle coming from the top end (cam wear?)
Any one knows of any inherent top end oil starvation problem with these
V 12 engines?
Or was the motor simply thrashed in the course of pulling those 130k
"highway" miles that the owner swears to.
I don't think that it is as far down as the piston pins but in any case
IF I get it I intend to pull the engine and dig.
Any one knows where I could get a manual or microfiche for this model?
Bentley does not seem to do one.
This and any other pertinent information on the 90 750IL I would be
extremely grateful for because I'm hooked.
