Not too sure, but on Mercedes the radiator neck that cracks/breaks is 
plastic.  Normal antifreeze/water mixture of 50/50 concentration actually 
weakens the plastic to the point of structural failure.  Same with Jeep.  
Funny you should mention this since I have a Jeep that suffered a neck 
breakage due ti this very problem.

Mercedes brand antifreeze is of a slightly different compound that does not 
erode/weaken plastic radiator components.  Your options at this point are to 
either buy a new radiator and get some gentle antifreeze (at MB dealers) or 
but a metal radiator.
