<E28>Cruise Control Problem

Regarding Robert's cruise control problem and Bob's and Larry's suggestions=
:
I suffered through the intermittent cruise control problem for over a year =
before I finally got smart enough to crawl under the dash and check the =
cut-out switches. Sure enough, it was the clutch switch that was =
sometimes engaging, sometimes not. Adjustment would have taken more than =
the limited time I had to correctly fix the problem at the time, so on the =
assumption that in an extremis situation my foot would always be going to =
the brake before the clutch, I simply "electrical-taped" the clutch switch =
in the permanently closed position. Has worked perfectly ever since. Bob =
or Larry: Any reason why this approach (unprincipled as it may be) could =
adversely affect other systems.

>First place to look is at the cut-out switches associated
